Paloma Román Marugán

PhD in Political Science and Professor of Political Science at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) where she is Director of the Expert in Political Leadership and was the Director of the School of Government (2017-2021). She is also a member of the University’s Senate, Governing Council and has been a member of the Social Council. From 2008-2016 she was Director of the Department of Political Science and Administration and she has been Co-director of the Political and Society Magazine. As a researcher, she has been attached to the IMEDIA-UCM (Institute for Mediation and Conflict Management). She has been a Visiting Professor at different universities in Europe and America and her lines of research include subjects related to comparative politics, the Spanish political system, social movements, civil society, as well as political negotiation and mediation. She is a member of the Doctoral Program in Political Science and International Relations and has been Coordinator of the Degree in Political Science, Coordinator of the Master in Political Science, and Coordinator of the Doctoral Program on Conflicts and Pacification Processes at the UCM. She is also a member of the Editorial Committee of the collection ‘Studi e questioni de genere of the Editorial Aracne’ (Rome, Italy) since 2016, member of the Network of Politologists, and Secretary of the Social Sciences Collection of Editorial Complutense since 2021.
