Cecilia Castaño Collado (Almería, 10 February 1953) holds a PhD in Political Science, is Professor of Applied Economics and lecturer in the Department of Applied Economics V at the Complutense University of Madrid. She is an expert on information technologies and their effect on women’s employment and work. She has carried out numerous research projects on the gender digital divide and women’s access to the Information Society. In 2006 she created the Research Programme on Gender and the Information Society at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). She has been a visiting researcher at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Berkeley University. She has 3 sexennials of research and 1 sexennial of transfer (2020).
