María Bustelo
María Bustelo is Associate professor of Political Science and Administration at the Complutense University of Madrid. She is the Scientific Director and European Coordinator of the Horizon 2020 SUPERA project (Supporting the Promotion of Equality in Research and Academia 2018-2022) and Principal Researcher for the Horizon 2020 UniSAFE (Making Universities and Research Organizations Safe from Gender-Based Violence by Building a Knowledge Base and Operational Tools 2021-2024) project, as well as the R&D project UNiGUAL on the implementation of equality policies in Spanish universities (2018-2021), which, like the GEYPO Research Group, she co-directs with Emanuela Lombardo. Her lines of research are gender equality policies in science and higher education and public policy evaluation. She has been Director of the UCM’s Master’s Degree in Program and Public Policy Evaluation since its inception in 2002, and has been part of the Global Evaluation Advisory Committee (GEAC) of UN Women (2014-2019), of the High-Level Panel that carried out the evaluation ex-post of the 7th Research Framework Program of the European Commission (2014-2015), and of the Group of Experts that carried out the mid-term evaluation of gender equality as a cross-cutting issue in Horizon 2020 (2016-2017). She was the UCM’s Delegate of the Rector for Equality from 2015-2019. She is the author of various publications on the evaluation of public policies, gender policies in Spain and Europe, and gender mainstreaming.
